Adventures in Microcontrollers

Lately I’ve been learning the ins and outs of Atmels AVR microcontrollers. This is an early project I put together. It is an ATTiny2313 programmed in c. The 14 segment LED is controlled by two 8-bit shift registers.

Any idea where I can get get really huge LED’s? I have a little art project in mind for my man cave:

Thanks.
Huge LEDs or Huge 7-segment displays ? Based on the link, I’m going to assume 7-segment and show you this. Sparkfun is a trustworthy dealer, I’ve used them myself.
And here’s one even bigger. I’ve not used EvilMadScience myself, but they are well known in the community.
Or, here’s instructions on making your own.
Awesome!!! I have no electronics know-how, but this is a start. May hire someone to constructify these for me.
Actually no, this isn’t what I need. I’m trying to make the “d” and “m” to hang on the wall in my game room, and to do the m I need a 14 segment LED.
Thanks for giving it a try though. Maybe I’ll fake it with some plexiglass and backlights.
If all you need is a ‘d’ and an ‘m’, then faking it is probably the way to go. If you look at that last link, the same theory would likely work for 14 segment (or even just a ‘d’ and an ‘m’)
Thought so. Thanks anyways.
