Congress can’t be bothered to do its job

Democratic Rep. Paul Hodes (NH-02) believes reading every bill in Congress “would slow down the business of Congress to a crawl and it would be hard to get done what needs to be done.”

Wow. And then from HotAir there’s John Conyers (D-Mich):

“I love these members, they get up and say, ‘Read the bill,’” said Conyers.

“What good is reading the bill if it’s a thousand pages and you don’t have two days and two lawyers to find out what it means after you read the bill?”

What the fuck is wrong with these people ? I’ll tell you what’s wrong with them. They have about a 90% re-election rate. Essentially, they can tell you, the voter, to fuck off and still keep their job.
