Climategate vs the search engines

There’s been a lot of talk about Google seemingly trying to hide climategate search results. You can read more about this at Soylent Green.
I’d posted an over there illustrating what I’d found searching google (that image is under the fold). Some people began talking about Bing, Microsoft’s new search engine.
I’m certainly no fan of Microsoft but they clearly win this round.
My original Google screenshots:

And people wonder why I refuse to use Google….
Though it is odd that “clip art” comes between “climategate” and “climate change” on the Bing search. I suppose it isn’t an alphabetical search, but a most-popular search, then.
Yeah, I guess Google does try and hide it….However, if you type climategate and then hit ENTER, you do get a list of links to articles and columns about climategate.
Maybe I’m resistant to technology, or maybe I’m just an old crank, but I’ve always ignored the titles that appear on Google as you’re typing in what you’re searching for.
It kinda irritates me that a damned computer or internet program is going to try and tell me what I need to be searching for, so I ignore all of the hints. I simply type in what I wish and hit ENTER, every time. LOL
By the same token, whenever I use Microsoft Word, I turn off all the auto help features, for much the same reason. I figure if I can’t type a sentence or paragraph without a freaking computer telling me what to do, I need to give it up.
Maybe I am just a cranky old-timer, LOL.
You Are a cranky old timer CF, which is why we love ya
I don’t think he’s an old-timer, seeing as he is younger than I am….but definitely cranky
