Who Do They Think They Are?
Jay Tea over at Wizbang writes:
There’s a trend emerging in American politics. I don’t think it’s a new one, but it’s growth is disturbing to me. And it’s the amazing hostility to the common people.
With the explosion of the internet, Andy Warhol’s “15 minutes” theory seems to have developed a variant: under the right circumstances, anyone can become a superstar overnight, over the most trivial of reasons — and fall just as quickly. Even in politics.
But in politics, there is a growing trend to take that nobody, that average person, and treat them just like we do hardened political professionals — and attempt to destroy them in the process.
I don’t link to the big blogs very often because I figure you guys probably went there before you got here anyhow. Sometimes I just have to point and shout at the really important items though. Like this one. Really, go read that.
Booze of the Week
I’ve recently moved on to Gin. First, on the recommendation of the girl at the liquor store, I’ve chosen New Amsterdam Gin. Monday I intend to pick up a more traditional Gin (Beefeater) so I’ll have something to compare to.
First up is the Gin and Tonic.

I must admit I didn’t have much hope for this one but I was pleasantly surprised. I used a ratio of almost 1:1 Gin:Tonic, maybe 4:5. I had no limes so I tossed in a splash of lime juice. It made for a damn fine drink.
I’m sure you’ve all heard stories about gin hangovers especially when dealing with cheaper gin (which New Amsterdam is). I killed roughly 2/3 of the bottle in one morning and I must say the hangover was less than what I was used to and didn’t last near as long. This will obviously require further testing.
Bonus Hooker
I know this sorta violates my sorta-policy about actual nudity, but I figured this was so worth it. Besides, according to my stats I haven’t had a new set of eyeballs here in over a month and I don’t reckon my regulars would get upset.

*bumped* An item for the regulars
I have a domain that expires next month 12-13-09. I don’t really have a use for it but thought one of you might. If I know you or someone else here does I’ll give you the domain. I don’t want money for it, but you will have to renew it after transfer.
The domain is: rightwinggeek.com
Let me know if you want it and we’ll work out the transfer.

Boobs. Is there anything they can’t do ?

Oh, shit, I forgot all about this
The best thing about watching Law Abiding Citizen the other day was this:
Ain’t that just creepy as shit ?
New Website Idea
I’ve been working on a little something for about a week. I’ve been learning a new programming language and web framework. The obvious project to learn with was simply re-creating H&B.com. So that’s what I’ve been doing lately.
The first step obviously is to replicate all the existing functionality that I currently have here with WordPress. Once that is done, I get to start adding new features. One of the first features I have in mind is for y’all. I’d like to add a means of tagging regular commenters. Either an image attached to all of your comments, or a total comment count, date since your first comment here, etc. I could even make it specific to each person (like adding Woody’s signature that he ends his posts with on his site to his comments here). Just something to let someone who just stumbled in off the street know who the Certified & Tested Morons are.
Anyway, as soon as it is more or less functional, I’ll let y’all know so you can all start playing with it (the website i mean).
Hooker of the Week
I do believe I owe y’all a Hooker.

I went to the movies
I saw Law Abiding Citizen.
Good movie… the ending sucked ass.
Update: Don’t get me wrong, the ending wasn’t so bad as to ruin the film. It is still very much worth watching.
