Stockpiling Tobacco

The latest round of absurd taxes on tobacco did not include pipe tobacco. Pipe tobacco can still be had fairly cheaply.
Update: Commenter “John Galt” points out the error.
That’s $25/lb.
As jarred, this makes roughly 4 months worth of smoking. Suck it, cigar puffers.

Now you just need one of these:

It doesn’t seem that I’m pretty enough for one of those.
Well, you aren’t the best judge, ya know.
If all else fails, make do with a nice comfy robe!
So I can’t just continue to sit here naked smoking a pipe ?
*speechless*
Armed Geek,
as long as you’re not sitting out on your front porch naked and smoking a pipe. Your neighbors might object.
Of course, if they don’t object and they’re not female, you might want to consider moving back inside anyway.
Sadly, my favorite cigars are all over $20 apiece now.
So pipe tobacco will be part of the new barter currency after things really hit the fan?
I strongly suspect that booze, bullets, and tobacco will be the “premium” barter items in the near future. Things such as eggs, butter, and milk will probably be right up there too.
And hookers….don’t forget the hookers, Guy
The latest round of absurd taxes on tobacco did not include pipe tobacco?!?
Do you mean something that happened this year in your state after S-chip? I believe S-chip more than doubled the tax on pipe tobacco.
After rereading the tobacco tax stuff, you are correct, pipe tobacco tax did go up but nowhere near the levels of cigars. Point is, currently, pipe smoking is the cheapest way to smoke.
I smoke only about a dozen or so cigars a year (good ones, too), but I’m sure as hell not happy about that tax.
BTW: thanks for your help with WP.
Just a drive-by to wish everyone a great Thanksgiving!!!
