Nelson will vote for cloture

Every man has his price, apparently, and Harry Reid found Ben Nelson’s price for a cloture vote on ObamaCare. Nelson announced this morning that the language in the manager’s amendment on aborti0n will be enough to secure his support for Reid’s compromise bill, but Think Progress reports on what really sold Nelson — or bought Nelson, depending on your perspective.
So another Congress-critter gets publicly bought. This is not going to stop, no one in a position to stop it is even concerned about it.
How much worse is it going to get when most of these folks resign themselves to the fact that they’re going to lose their job soon. Once, there’s no chance at re-election how bad is the pillaging going to get ?

I think a lot of these so-called representatives and senators would rather make a mark in history and risk their chances at re-election than listen to the public. Some may think they are writing the “new and improved” Bill of Rights, instead of their own political death warrant.

Sure they’re a joke. Unfortunately, so is our court system so there’s not a lot of hope in undoing the damage the current crop will do before they get unemployed.

The Congress hold the keys to the Treasury, and they voted themselves a retirement system to die for, except they don’t have to die, just serve a single 2 year term. They are then paid twice what a retired colonel makes after 20 years of honorable service, risking life and limb and making frequent moves of his family. So, if they don’t get re-elected, who cares? They have it made, at our children’s and grandchildren’s expense.
