Well, this week brought monumental happenings around our country. It all began thusly:
Scott Brown wins Massachusett(e)s Senate race. The so-called Bluest State votes for a Republican. A shot heard ’round the country, no doubt. Prez Obama’s Midas Touch strikes again.
Senate healthcare plan is DOA. MaDamn Pelosi grudgingly admits she doesn’t have the votes. With the MA election still smoldering their backsides, Congressional Dems are slowing down the ramming of the DeathCare bill to a crawl. Can you say, “writing on the wall”?
Air America is dead. Ok, a two-edged machete here. On one hand, it proves to those of us with more than two functioning brain cells that leftist propaganda tends to fail in our society. On the other hand, it may be the open window the left is looking for in order to push for a new Fairness Doctrine.
UN abandons “Climate Change” deadline. Not directly our turf, but don’t forget Prez Obama went over to Hopenchangen to help push this through.
And finally, the Supreme Court deals McCain/ Feingold a deadly blow. Justice Kennedy (no relation, but again, I love the irony) wrote for the majority: “This is unlawful. The First Amendment confirms the freedom to think for ourselves.” There is hope this atrocity of a law can yet die. The Administration is preparing a bipartisan ”forceful response”, and I am eagerly awaiting the release of Hillary: The Movie.
So, there you have it: the week in review, a week that should have been the crowning jewel in Prez Obama’s first year anniversary as CnC. Instead, it shows his crown to be made of tin foil and stickers. My cup runneth over.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go bathe in chocolate. ![]()

Brown Wins; Obama Blames Bush!!!!
It was with joy and glee, and a girlie drink, that I watched the returns come in from the Massachusett(e)s Senate race. For fun, I flipped the channel over from Fox News, to (P)MSNBC. My joy was unbridled as I watched Olbermoron grind his teeth in anger, Madcow gnash about how the democrats need to move further to the left to win, and Chrissy Matthews’ tear-stained face. Not to be stifled, Olbermoron went on a slanderous tirade against Senator-elect Brown, proving once again that, if liberals can’t win, they will throw a tantrum and call names.
Today I find the spinning to be just as enjoyable. First there is this from Politico:
Sen. Russ Feingold (D-Wis.) told a local reporter, “It’s probably back to the drawing board on health care, which is unfortunate.” Rep. Bill Delahunt (D-Mass.) told MSNBC this morning he will advise Democratic leaders to scrap the big bill and move small, more popular pieces that can attract Republicans. And Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) said his leadership is “whistling past the graveyard” if they think Brown’s win won’t force a rethinking of the health care plan.
“Here’s my assessment of not just the vote in Massachusetts, but the mood around the country: the same thing that swept Scott Brown into office swept me into office,” the president said in an exclusive interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos. “People are angry and they are frustrated. Not just because of what’s happened in the last year or two years, but what’s (sic) happened over the last eight years.”
So, it’s Bush’s fault Massachusett(e)s voted a Republican for the Senate seat, see??

Coakley Concedes
Open Thread: Massachusett(e)s Election
Well, today is the day. I don’t really expect much to be going on around here today and I’d say Ace of Spades HQ is probably going to be the best seat in the house today.
My prediction: Brown by 3.
Curtal Friar at Fountain Abbey has this.
And he also has this:

But I’m gonna make you go over there to see the big version. I’d hit that like Dale Earnhardt hits a retaining wall (too soon?).

After Obama Rally, Dems Pin Blame on Bush
Never gets old for the Democrats, apparently. Deity forbid Dems take responsibility for their own failures…
As audience members streamed out of Pres. Obama’s rally on behalf of AG Martha Coakley (D) here tonight, the consensus was that the fault for Coakley’s now-floundering MA SEN bid lies with one person — George W. Bush.
But the best quote comes from Representative Patrick “Yes, I am a REAL” Kennedy, who was campaigning for Coakley, even though he represents Rhode Island:
Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-RI), speaking with a gaggle of reporters after the event, said that while state Sen. Scott Brown (R) offers voters a quick fix, in reality, the problems created by “George Bush and his cronies” are not so easily solved.
“If you think there’s magic out there and things can be turned around overnight, then you would vote for someone who could promise you that, like Scott Brown,” Kennedy said. “If you don’t, if you know that it takes eight years for George Bush and his cronies to put our country into this hole … then you know we have a lot of digging to do, but some work needs to be done and this president’s in the process of doing it and we need to get Marcia Coakley to help him to do that.”
Translation: In order to get out of the hole, Dems need to keep digging. I am not making this up. As if that weren’t bad enough, Sen. Kennedy kept referring to Martha Coakley as MARCIA.
Democrats sinking in quicksand. Hilarity ensues.

Miracle Not For Sale on eBay
So last week we had that horrible bout of global warming that set record lows throughout the country (has anyone spotted The Goron??), and freaking out like I usually do over cold weather, I went around checking the furnace a record-setting 15 times in two days, the pipes a record-breaking 25 times, and the heating pad every 15 minutes. Kids thought I was nuts until they had to go out to scoop up the dog poo (AHA! Glad it’s not my job). One of the things I did was set the two outside spigots on a slow drip, like an IV only not as cool or as life-saving. And God, in his infinite wisdom, mercy, and wicked sense of humor, sent me a miracle: (more…)
A Little Cheese With That Whine?

From The Hillicon Valley Blog:
White House budget director blames old computers for ineffective government.
A big reason why the government is inefficient and ineffective is because Washington has outdated technology, with federal workers having better computers at home than in the office.
This startling admission came Thursday from Peter Orszag, who manages the federal bureaucracy for President Barack Obama.
The public is getting a bad return on its tax dollars because government workers are operating with outdated technologies, Orszag said in a statement that kicked off a summit between Obama and dozens of corporate CEOs.
Firstly, it’s either “The reason is that…” or “This is because…” Secondly, no matter the amount of technology you throw at the government, it will always be inefficient, due to lack of training, too much red tape, etc. And thirdly, and most important of all, IF THIS ADMINISTRATION STOPPED WASTING OUR TAX DOLLARS ON WAYGU AND KOBE BEEF, WEDNESDAY PARTIES, BUYING JETS AND FLYING TO EVERY GLOBAL GET-TOGETHER, MAYBE YOU WOULD HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO UPDATE WHAT IS NECESSARY.
The White House release that included Orszag’s comments said one “specific source” of ineffective and inefficient government is the huge technology gap between the public and private sectors that results in billions of dollars in waste, slow and inadequate customer service and a lack of transparency about how dollars are spent.
So, they blame the lack of transparency on the so-called “oudated technology”? They’ve never heard of a “press conference”? Oh, wait….Obama hasn’t held one since July. But he is meeting with CEOs from Facebook, Craigslist, Microsoft, Adobe, Monster.com, among others. A meeting that has been in the works since April. My, how time flies.
It is a poor craftsman that blames his tools, Mr. Orszag. I am rather surprised the administration didn’t come out and blame President Bush for this right off. Wait for it…..
