Fresh from his success over his historical blockbuster, “W”, and following in the footsteps of his highly-acclaimed documentary, “Comandante”, Oliver Stone prepares to indoctri-- I mean, educate the masses with his newest work, a ten-part documentary series for Showtime called, “Secret History of America”:

Let’s see now…..”Uncle Joe” Stalin’s body count: between 20 and 40 million; Adolph Hitler’s body count: almost 6 million Jews, and over 6 million others; Mao Tse Tung’s body count: nearly 77 million; Senator Joseph McCarthy’s body count: anyone? Anyone? Bueller?? Yes, all four are vilified, but the difference is, the right vilifies the killers, whereas the left vilifies the one who exposed communists in our government (in fairness, some on the left do tend to draw the line at Hitler, because his body count was racially motivated). I don’t see Mr. Stone making a documentary of just how misunderstood Sen. McCarthy was, do you?

Working in collaboration with Mr. Stone is none other than Professor Peter Kuznick, who teaches at American University. The author of “Beyond the Laboratory: Scientists as Political Activists in 1930s America”, and coeditor of “Rethinking Cold War Culture”, Professor Kuznick is currently writing a book about scientists’ opposition to the Vietnam War. To say he leans left is an understatement.
“He’s not saying we’re going to come out with a more positive view of Hitler,” emphasized professor Peter Kuznick, the lead writer on the project. “But we’re going to describe him as a historical phenomenon and not just somebody who appeared out of nowhere.”
HITLER appeared out of nowhere???? Who the hell even thinks Hitler came out of nowhere??? And WTF kind of professor is this to think anyone would?? Does he not teach History? Or is he more interested in getting Hollywood speakers for his classes? Scary to know Mr. Stone wants to send this documentary to schools across the country, and that Prof. Kuznick will be using it as part of his curriculum.
Mr. Stone goes on to claim that conservative pundits will dislike the show:
“Obviously, Rush Limbaugh is not going to like this history and, as usual, we’re going to get those kind of ignorant attacks,” said Stone, who also also compared the experience of sympathizing with war criminals to making his “W” movie about George W. Bush.
See?? Bush = Hitler. Of course, Mr. Stone believes The New York Times is “The Middle”. Some idiots never change.

All this is proof of why we need to treat leftists exactly like their heroes Mao, Stalin, Hitler, Pot et al treated people – so they can learn first hand the difference and show them the end point of the policies they advocate.

Some _start_ Stalin’s count at ~40million on the low end… The Ukrainian famine/execution figures, for example, are usually pegged at around 7 million, in deference to Russian “historians” though Ukrainian records reflect upwards of 9 million. Other figures concerning Cossacks, Estonians, Latvians and Lithuanians and others follow the same pattern: minimizing by Russian “historians” with large differentials reported by the populations that actually bore the brunt of Stalin’s purges.
I’m pretty sure Stalin’s count is much higher, David. I was being *ahem* conservative in the estimation.
Read Ann Coulters book on the McCarthy era and you’ll find that he wasn’t really the issue – the MSM was.
I did, McGoo….awesome book. I was just appalled at the moral equivalency with which Stone lumps McCarthy with bloodthirsty dictators.

There are so very few big Hollywood movies I can stand to watch anymore, and so-called “documentaries” don’t make the list at all.
I can imagine Stone’s logic though. Lessee… Hitler was an alterboy… Bush is Christian… some Christians are alterboys… therefore, Bush has to be Hitler.
Wheee. Why don’t they share their drugs?

Oliver Stone……I think I saw one movie of his, Platoon, back in the eighties when it first came out. Never saw a need to watch it again, and I haven’t seen anything else the fucker has made.
What would be fitting would be for his new documentary to start airing, and then for it to be dropped after only a couple of weeks due to the dismal viewership.
Actually, I can think of better things to do with Stone, but I think beating him, tying him up, making him watch while every single copy of everything he has ever made is thrown into the fire, then beating him again before dumping him in the pacific a mile off shore to give him at least a fighting chance of swimming to safety, would probably land me in prison, and I’d rather not live out that scenario.
