Not money! Fifteen million dollars. Money is what you take to the grocery store. It’s what you get out of an ATM. Fifteen million dollars isn’t money. It’s a motive with a universal adapter on it.— Joe Sarno (James Caan), The Way of the Gun

Posted by ArmedGeek on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 in News, Uncategorized

Well, here at Hookers & Booze we’ve reached our 1600th comment.

The honor goes to Nicole who said:

Hm. It’s almost like those people who think that if they don’t speak your language all they have to do is shout louder and you’ll get it. They simply aren’t loud enough yet. Soon we will all see the correctness of their ways.

Technically it was LC Aggie Sith who was #1600, but since she writes here, she don’t count.

Previous honorees:
800th Comment -- TheDudeAbides
400th Comment -- WAMK
200th Comment -- GWK
100th Comment -- LC Aggie Sith

Next stop is obviously #3200. (cause Aggie wouldn’t stop harassing me until I fixed it)

Kiss of Death

Posted by LC Aggie Sith on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 in Politics

Remember how Prez Obama campaigned for former NJ governor Jon Corzine? And how he stumped for Craig Deeds in VA? And how he raced to MA at the last minute to save Martha Coakley’s bid for the Senate seat vacated by Ted Kennedy’s took-forever-to-happen demise?

Remember how those turned out?

Well, the Administration has decided that, when you are in a hole, you just need to keep digging:

President Obama kicks off what might be called his “Save the Senate” tour this week, heading west to campaign for two embattled Democrats trailing badly against Republican challengers -- including Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada.

Bad enough Democrat Evan Bayh has decided to retire, bringing the total count of Democrat retirees to five….so far. Now Obama is going to pound sand campaign for Michael Bennet in CO, an appointee after Ken Salazar was appointed Secretary of the Interior. Mr. Bennet trails “Jane Norton, a former lieutenant governor and state representative, by 14 percentage points, and Ken Bush, a district attorney and former congressional aide, by four percentage points.”

That has to hurt…

After CO, Prez Obama plans to be the headliner at a DNC fundraiser in Las Vegas. Wait, what? LAS VEGAS??? The same city he told us proles not to spend time or money?? TWICE?? Wow…. The following day he will bury try to bolster Harry Reid’s numbers, and his popularity. Democratic strategist Bud Jackson explains:

“Obama won’t be able to save senators by visiting their states, but he can help them with fundraising, rallying the base and putting Democrats on the same stage as the president of the United States, which lends credibility.”

I don’t care who you are, that right there is funny!!!
