Gallup Poll: Most Democrats Like Socialism
I can’t say as I’m terribly surprised. Still, it is odd to see it in print like that. I also find it unnerving that Dems would admit it after trying so hard to keep their socialist leanings secret for so long.

They don’t have any idea what socialism is so they have no shame in admitting they approve of it.

Perhaps because they (the dems) are in power right now, and they are pushing an agenda which makes “socialism” look positively middle of the road in comparison. (Yes I think the current Usurper-n-Thief and his ship of fools are pushing for the collapse of our government and country, replacing same with a modified Marxist state at best, and a full blown totalitarian state at worst.) So it should be no surprise they are “out in the open” about their support of socialism (and after all, it is sooooo European! [/snark])
Sorry Nicole but even if they did have an idea what socialism they would still support it – mainly because they all think that because they support it, they will be spared and live like those in charge who they believe will happily share power with them.
Similarly why they support muslim terrorists – they believe by supporting them they will be spared and given power over the rest of us.
Only 20% of self-identified “conservatives” are illiterate, unprincipled boobs? That number seems a tad low…
Oh, I agree, Tiberius. They wouldn’t change their views if they knew what it was because they feel they are the enlightened ones who will be in charge. But I still stand by that a vast majority of them have no clue what is really is.
And I think Guy S is right when he says that by comparison, socialism is downright attractive compared to the crap we are being fed now. We’ve been creeping into socialism for years now and I think so many just accept that the way things are is the way they should be and there isn’t anything wrong with it. After all, it’s not like they’ve actually seen those camps and bread lines and body bags that students of history keep warning come with socialism. How bad can it be? Their kids’ teachers wouldn’t teach them anything harmful, right?
Exactly Nicole! If we hadn’t been having many discussions at the dinner table about the constitution, along with what is being “taught” at the local public schools (and we supposedly have some of the best ones in the state right here where we live), I am willing to bet both boys would be woefully ignorant as to what was going on.
