On this day in 1836, forty one delegates gathered at Washington-on-the-Brazos for the Convention of 1836, where they adopted the Texas Declaration of Independence, officially establishing the Republic of Texas.
A friend of mine is one lucky SOB to have been born on the same day, and even more lucky NOT to have been born in the same year
