Well, special effects have progressed since the original, but I’m none too sure that will result in an advance over the original… Can we hope it won’t be as sucky as “Pocahantas in Space” (the recent Academy “not-as-bigga-winner-as-pre-touted”)?
It could certainly go either way. I really hope it doesn’t suck.

Agreed. I truly hope it has as good a story (at least) as 1, with the vastly improved graphics of today.
