I can’t believe I beat Aggie to it.

Bring on the comments

  1. You beat me to it because 1) I had to take kids to school, 2) the dog decided to revisit her food on my carpet again, and 3) I have no clue how to make “badges”, so I left it to the expert, my boss :P

Still wouldn’t mind being back in sunny Sierra Vista, Az! Great little Army base there, and the local chapter of the American Legion rocks!!!

  5. Guy,

yeah, I hear ya. I enjoyed Ft. Huachuca. Did a lot of hiking while there, and I seem to remember enjoying going down to Bisbee occasionally. Not sure what I did in Bisbee, as that was more than 20 years ago when I was there, but I remember liking the place.

AZ will do just fine. My old State came thru things just fine when our Gov at the time rescinded the MLK Jr holiday (it wasn’t passed legally, he had to do that, not that it mattered to the detractors).

The NFL was going to “protest” by not letting Phoenix have the Super Bowl (but later relented, and the SB was played there a year later).

So let the haters hate, and good old Arizona will do just fine.

I was there in late 94, early 95, going through UAV pilot training. I suspect the immediate area around the base is secure from illegals, but get on the outskirts of the city (or go to Huachuca city, just to the north, and all bets are off.

Bisbee was where all the artsy types hung out, the retired hippies and such. Tombstone was just a half hour east of Sierra Vista, and pretty interesting.
