Booze of the Week
This is one damned fine bourbon. From the moment I cracked the bottle open and raised the bottle to my nose, I knew this one was going to be good. This is one of the better smelling bourbons that I’ve tried. My first sip was as good as my first smell. I said earlier that I’ve spoiled myself with exceptional bourbons like Makers Mark and Woodford Reserve; well, you can add Bulleit to that list of exceptional bourbons. The Bulleit is slightly sweeter than Makers and a bit woodier than the Woodford and is one of the smoother liquors I’ve tried. If you like bourbon, then I highly recommend Bulleit. While it will take further experimentation, Bulleit might unseat Makers Mark as the bourbon I keep on hand. Thanks to hellferbreakfast who recommended Bulleit (as well as anyone else that mentioned it).

Sounds like I need to make an addition to the
booze stashliquor cabinet. It has been my bourbon of choice for years now. Great stuff.
I am gonna have to look that one up! As I am not a big Bourbon drinker, I normally do not look at the aisle they are on, but since this one is recommended!!
If you can find it somewhere, you’d want to add as much of this to your cabinet as you can find:

I briefly dated Makers Mark’s daughter years ago. She was a true southern belle. Everyone, and I mean everyone, called her Miss Lesley. She died several years ago way too young.
Proud you enjoyed it. Right now, I’m sipping on my own homebrew. Not anything like Bulleitt, but much more potent @ 150 proof. I was very surprised the first time I tasted Bulleitt also. Tastes, to me, like BOURBON.
Gonna try the Russels’ Reserve also. Have to drive 50 miles round trip to the nearest liquor store though. Sounds really good. I sometimes can’t find the flavors others describe.
Yeah, I might do some hunting for the Russels’ Reserve as well.
This is the problem with reviewing something like booze; It really is different for everyone. I have noticed however that the more I drink and the more variety I experience allows me to pick out more flavors in the liquors. One of the hardest things (and I’m not very good at it) is finding words to describe the tastes.
Hm…you know, it’s payday and I’ve got a mess dinner on Saturday. I don’t know if the LC had Bulleit, but I know they’ve got Maker’s Mark. Maybe it’s time to play grownup and fill the hip flask with bourbon this year.
What the hell, if it doesn’t work out we’ve got a good scotch selection in the mess and I have plenty of the old favourites on hand. Like Brennivin!
Give me until Saturday, and I’ll have it in my stock
Yeah, for all the good that does me….
If you can manage to fit the Rott Fest during your anniversary, I’ll bring y’all a bottle
Temptress! That reminds me though, I need to check on the progress of our passports.
