Poker night is Thursday
The very first Hookers & Booze Poker Night is this Thursday. I figure we’ll set the start time around 7pm Texas Time (that’d be US Central). If you want to play, but need a different time, leave a comment. If enough people want a different start time, then I’ll update.
Directions:
First you need to download and install the game client.
- Windows: PokerTH-0.8.3-windows-installer.exe
- Linux: PokerTH-0.8.3-linux-installer.bin
- OSX: PokerTH-0.8.3.dmg
Once you get your client downloaded and installed, start the program up. You should see something very similar to this:

You need to click “Settings” on the menu, then “Configure PokerTH …” which will show you the Settings panel. There’s only two ‘pages’ here you need to worry about. First is the Internet Game Settings page. To show it, click on Internet Game on the left side of the Settings panel. You should see this:

You’ll need to ‘x’ the box next to Manual Server Configuration and change Server Address to armedgeek.net. Server Port should already be 7234, if it isn’t then change it.
Next, you’ll need to set your name and avatar. To do that, click on Nicks/Avatars on the left of the Settings panel. You should see this:
![]()
At the top, you’ll need to change Human Player to your name. Please use the same name as you use here so we’ll all recognize you. Next, you can click on the box/square above where you entered your name to select your avatar. You should see this:
![]()
You can either pick on of the provided avatars or ‘x’ the box next to Load avatar from external file and upload your own avatar. Unfortunately the size requirements for a custom avatar is pretty small, only 30kb. A small version of your Gravatar should be fine.
That’s it! Click Ok to return to the start screen and click 2 Internet Game to start.
Important Note: If you create a game, do NOT check Fill up with computer opponents. It is just too much load for the server.

WHEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m in
I can haz all ur money?
Do my best to participate. We are in the midst of ball season for the boy and this year we have 20:00hrs CST games. They get to play like the big boys under the lights. Unfortunately it still takes em 2.5 hrs to play four freaking innings.
I just checked “fill up with computer opponents” to see what would happen. Turns out to be like that episode of Twilight Zone where you press that button and nothing happens… or else something happens but you don’t see it……. Until somebody else gets that g-damned button
Muahahahahahahaaaaa!
you can only start an Internet Game if there’s at least two human players .. the fill up with computer opponents will create computer players in the remaining open slots. Don’t do that though, the AI is hard on my server.
The installer started yelling at me in German! I’m not drunk enough to speak German!
What OS? Screenshot maybe ?
VistaHP. It sorted itself oot when I set it for Engrish…
Is this playing for fun, or for real money?
Just for fun. If things work out, I may set up a ranking page.
Cool, then I’m in, if I can get computer time on thursday night.
And did I read right, that the game will be Texas Hold’em?
Yes, Texas Hold’em.
not this week (time diff awkward) but will try next time
I’ll be there!!
I’d play but it’d probably end up like this:
