Romney is the new McCain

Posted by ArmedGeek on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 in 2012, Politics

A lot of folks still get their news from the newspapers and the networks. This is sad but true. Sure the headline says the majority distrusts the media, but a lot of folks have nowhere else to get their news.

When its down to Romney, Perry, and Cain (go ahead and call me a racist for listing the black guy last) the MSM will be fluffing Romney big time. The only thing worse than the nominee being a conservative black guy or a Texan is the next POTUS being a conservative black guy or a Texan.

Either is a disaster for the left.

So we hear about electability and being a moderate and appealing to the independents .. just like we did with McCain.

What the conservatives need to be doing to Romney is tying his ass to McCain. We need to beat the drum that Romney is the “establishment pick” … just like McCain. That its Romney’s “turn” .. just like McCain. That Romney is “moderate” … just like McCain. That Romney appeals to the independents .. just like McCain.

If the right can paint Romney as the second coming of McCain he wouldn’t stand a chance in the primary.

Its almost a forgone conclusion that any Republican is gonna beat Obama so too many people will be accepting (and are accepting) of Romney simply cause any Republican is good enough.

Make Romney feel like another McCain and everyone will be scared to death to let him have the nomination. Compare him constantly to the only fucking Republican that couldn’t beat that empty suit.

I was really excited for Perry to enter the race and yeah I feel like I got the girl out of her clothes and she does not shave. Just me but living in the AZ illegal immigration is a huge issue, so while I can appreciate that a border state governor is going to do what they have to do to get re-elected I do not have to like it nor do I like being told by my own side to have a heart. The Gardasil issue I am indifferent to , the Mrs. (nurse) lived in TX at the time and yeah everyone hates cancer and anyone who can get it should get it and there was an opt out. It is a kneejerk optic thing but not for me.

Romney is presidential and he has had some good personal moments but I can’t think anything he has done that buys my vote. You are correct they will try to water our vote by pushing us for a moderate candidate with little appeal to destroy our enthuasiasm. I mean really there is no chance in hell I would put a ROMNEY 2012 bumper sticker on my truck though of course I would vote for him against the ONE.

Cain is great and I wish he was running for something else. I just don’t think that he is IKE I mean that is the only person I can think of who was elected directly to the presidency without winning a previous election. Great to see those debates though. God knows I don’t want to hear anything more about racism. Ever.
Honestly is this the best we can do for in the field?

Wow, its not often we get “wall-of-text”ed in the comments around here.

I feel like I got the girl out of her clothes and she does not shave

    That’s awesome, I’m stealing that.

It is surprising sometimes that any conservative runs for anything in this country. There’s not a lot of decent folks willing to be tortured publicly by the MSM just for seeking elected office.

Most of the anti-Perry stuff is blown way out of proportion and is being used to beat him over the head.

I still back Perry, but if Cain were to win the nomination it would not hurt my feelings a bit.

    Romney’s a douchebag.

I agree with you, and I will vote against Obama, whomever runs on the opposite ticket. Too early too tell who that might be, but any of ‘em will be better for the future. We only have two parties, so people must decide what they believe is right for them. It’s a binary choice. This is not an endorsement on my part: but I believe Cain knocked it out of the park in FL. I realize straw polls don’t mean shit, but Cain is now in the 3rd quarter. The real question will be who the media spins. Sad, but true. Having said that, most voters have no clue about issues, but they do have opinions about American Idol. We live in crazy times.

  4. Last time we had a lot of conservatives sit it out. This time, they can’t afford to do so.

My rule of thumb is to pay attention to the candidate that is being despised by the media the most. Usually, he or she is the one they are afraid will win against their anointed leader.

What Aggie and Draco said. Whomever the media hates the most is assuredly the one to vote FOR! I hope they never learn that.

Whoever wins, the media is going to savage them in the run-up to the election. This one’s gonna get ugly, folks. Probably uglier than anything we’ve ever seen.

Nah. The Romney Android 1.3 is modeled in some respect after Juan Mexicain, but while the firmware and software have been tweaked to satisfy internal polling, it’s not even quite as human as Juan Mexicain is at his least humane.

    And the plastic work stinks.

BTW, “When its down to Romney, Perry, and Cain (go ahead and call me a racist for listing the black guy last)…”

Until you threw in the parenthetical remark, I thought you were either listing them in reverse alphabetical order or ascending order of desirability. *shrugs* Who knew that either of those were “racist”?

I don;t know if I told this story before, but on election night ’08, I was in my local watering hole having wings and beers after work. A couple of guys from Minnesota were there, and they asked me what branch my uniform was from. We hit it off, and a little while later, the election results popped up on the TVs.

    Some sports bar, right? Anyway,

I told them I was sorry aboot the results, and they said thanks, but on the bright side it opens up the chance for a Republican to win in ’12. If Obama’d lost, they said, that would have opened it up for Hillbillary, which was worse.

I do love it when people look on the bright side.

  13. Guy S says:

Just a thought, but who says Hillary wouldn’t take a stab at ’12, especially of Obambi’s poll numbers keep heading south? (Assuming, of course, he doesn’t suspend things either before, or immediately after, the election.)

And yeah, at this point anything is immediately better than what we have right now. But shouldn’t there at least be an attempt to get someone who is as close to our way of thinking/reasoning in the oval office, for a change.

And just a thought, but it would seem Cain comes across as the better orator, between him and Perry, which when addressing either house (or twisting arms in private) or talking with the American People, can often times be of more value than perhaps having a better political grasp on things (which strikes me as being something Perry would be better at).

Would be real interested on who would be Cain’s first (or second) choice for VP right now, wouldn’t you?

Yes, “… she does not shave” is probably one of the best I’ve heard in some time.

Why is it that the vast majority of the conservative candidates actually shave? I do like Cain, however. He seems to contort less than the others to appear electable.

Romney is Mr. National Health Care Lite – with that track record data point from Massachusetts alone I can’t vote for him. Look, it’s not like I want to see poor people with zero options NOT get health care, I just don’t want someone taking my money to do it for everyone.

By the way, who is currently despised the most by the MSM?

Damn, those ARE some fugly damn hookers, ain’t they?
