We’ve seen it coming, but for the so-called 99%, it’s still a bit of a shock to find that your protest is nothing more than a rave getting out of hand:
Three people arrested Thursday night inside the Occupy Boston camp have been charged with dealing crack cocaine.

“Things have changed drastically. It seems to be deteriorating,” the man told Carl [Stevens, of WBZ NewsRadio 1030]. “A lot of drug use, alcohol use, people getting into fights… It’s deteriorating pretty quick.”
This is what you get when you open up a so-called protest to everyone. Even the mayor of Boston, Thomas Menino (D), is upset at what he describes as “infiltration”:
“They have a message that’s not a clear message. The problem we have today is that we have different groups infiltrating the people who have the message. We have anarchists who are part of the group. We have homeless individuals who are part of the group.”
Wait…I thought they were part of the 99%?? Are you telling me that homeless people and anarchists are NOT part of this movement?? REALLY??? Because I was under the impression that everyone NOT in Wall Street or a bank was part of the 99%. Seems to me like Mayor Menino doesn’t share the same impression, though.
“The problems are down in Washington. And nobody’s even addressing those issues of what Washington has done to our economy, to job training, to housing, to education. They’re directing their anger at the wrong location.”
This is the same man who not long ago was completely in support of the Occupods*. But now that the crime rate is escalating, and the filth and disease is spreading, he is turning his back and suggesting the occupiers at Dewey Square GTFO and go protest in Washington, D.C.

U.S. lawmakers have threatened to withhold $80 million in aid from UNESCO, which is a rathole of corruption in itself. But the Fwench don’t care, as long as they can spite the Israelis and the Americans. The big bonus is that, if Palestinians get UN recognition, the Fwench can then start shipping the “undesirable” second-class citizenry of their country back to the Middle Eastern hellhole from where it spawned, thus helping Fwance re-establish its cultural hegemony. Because you know…the Palis were there first, along with unicorns.
The Fwench may have surrendering down to an artform, but they sure learned a thing or two from that little Austrian guy.

So enthused about promoting the far-left protests, ABC anchor Diane Sawyer on Monday night’s World News championed “the Occupy Wall Street movement” by ludicrously claiming that “as of tonight, it has spread to more than 250 American cities, more than a thousand countries — every continent but Antarctica.”
Excuse me?? A thousand countries?? What planet is she talking about?? Because last I checked, there were less than 200 countries on her precious Gaia. I’m no genius, but even I know geography. She could be forgiven* for saying a thousand cities in the US, but even then that would mean at least 20 per state. Unless there are 57 states, then it would be under 18 per state.
Newsflash, Ms. Sawyer: the rest of the world couldn’t give a flying fuck at a rolling doughnut about these protesters. They only care about our country imploding from division, something which your ilk is only happy to foment along. I don’t know if it was the shiraz talking, but do us all a favor and kindly STFU.

Not sure what that has to do with Cheney’s criticisms of Powell’s rather weak policy towards Iraq, but rehashing is good for the goose, and apparently the gander, too.
Go read the article. The whole thing is a whiny bitchfest about how he served President Bush and how Cheney basically is acting like he is writing a supermarket tabloid unbecoming a former vice-president. Not that you need me to point it out, but who do you really think is acting like a creature from a tabloid here??

The United States has become a country where the chasm between the rich and the poor has grown to enormous proportions. We should be one of the most progressive countries, given our commitment to freedom and democracy and the kind of talent and invention we’ve nurtured here. But we are not. Warren Buffett’s idea makes sense, but the so-called conservative media is trying to spin it as a statement of “socialism” and “class warfare.” It’s ridiculous when the top 1% can convince the other 99% that making sure the 1% is doing better all the time and keeping the others down is good for everyone. It’s called “feudalism” and “oligarchy.”

I didn’t reply to his post. I stay out of my liberal friends’ posts. They are way past the point of saving, and I have better things to do with my time, like wash my hair. I did find it surprising par for the course that not once did my friend bring up the fact that Buffett can donate any amount of money, at any time, to the Treasury. He has no idea to whom the term “super rich” refers. To him, they are evil incarnate who as he claims, “keep the 99% down”. The same inventors and talent he was praising like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs and Steven Spielberg and Oprah Winfrey and Michael Dell and Rupert Murdoch and Michael Bloomberg and Abigail Johnson and Leona M. I was tempted to reply. But I know him, and he is a true “citizen of the world”, who thinks the UN is the greatest beneficiary known to Mankind. He’s beyond hopeless. He still hasn’t made the connection between the evul mentioned above, and the fact that they contribute mostly to the Democrats. But considering he makes a living playing his violin at local joints, I’m not surprised.

This morning I was perusing Fox News for…well, news, having heard that the two American hikers in Iran had been given 8-year sentences (why the hell haven’t we bombed this country to hell, where they want to go??), Syria has effectively told Obama that Assad is staying, so fuck off, (another country deserving of many daisies--as in daisy cutters), and Egypt is removing its ambassador from Israel. Things are coming to a head over in that sand pit. That said, something else in the site caught my eye:
