COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -- A gas station on Columbia’s North Main Street has been renamed and redecorated after President Obama.
You read that correctly. It is called “Obama” and features the official logo.
[Sam] Alhanik has only owned this station for two months. Although born in Yemen, he says he supports America’s president. “It’s the first president of black people,” he said. “It’s our president. We like him.”
Two questions: Why not say “American of Yemeni descent”? I think we know the answer. And, Yemenis are black?? Learn something new everyday…
The gas station is opposite his cousin’s gas station, El Cheapo, and apparently they are always in competition to have the cheaper price on gas. Which means people really like it, and not just because gas is cheap.

Obama gets more free publicity, and the sheep follow. How quaint. I guess Larry feels he is buying the prez’ gas. And here I thought our prez only had hot air.
Some do acknowledge it’s good advertising, but have a few qualms about the message.
[Chiquita] Burton says the gas station name change has prompted discussions in her hair salon, but she does not like the idea. “A lot of people think that it’s morally and ethically wrong to have the president beside beer, wine and cigarettes,” she said. “That’s portraying an image to society and also to the children here.”
I guess Ms. Brown has forgotten about the Beer Summit and the former chain smoking habit. But not to worry. I’m sure the White House has this firmly under control.

I am still under the weather somewhat, and that will be made worse with the upcoming release of Snowmageddon II: The Ice Bitch Cometh later this week. Wow…what a subtle change. From “force to pay for the priviledge” of actually OWNING your own home, to ZOMG!! “the hidden truth” and “under-occupation”. Seriously, this idiot is advocating that owners essentially give up what they have rightly earned to others who have not. And why?? Because Moonbat believes that housing is a common resource, like oh, I don’t know…. federal lands? public roads? public parks? Shit if I know. I’m not British. Or a Moonbat. In Georgie’s Moonbattery World, he believes, and I am NOT making this up, that it was a mistake to allow the Market, and the Market alone, to determine who gets what. Here in the USA, we call that opportunity. Georgie calls it thievery:

Well, I had a busy Saturday, and did not get to watch the Texas Longhorns vs. Oklahomo Sooners game. I was a bit upset, but after a few seconds I was fine. As I finally went to bed, I realized I had totally forgotten about the so-called One Nation Rally that was held on Saturday at the National Mall in response to Glenn Beck’s Restoring Honor Rally held on August 28th. L.A. La Land
Only in L.A. would a cop defending himself would be a cause for a riot:
Police Chief Charlie Beck pleaded for calm and vowed his department would conduct an exhaustive investigation into a bicycle officer’s fatal shooting of a drunken day laborer with a knife.
But his words did little to dissuade demonstrators, who spilled into the streets for a second straight night Tuesday -- some to pray and light candles and others to pelt a police station near downtown Los Angeles with eggs, rocks, and bottles.
Day laborer?? With a knife? Just how peaceful were his intentions?
Guatemalan immigrant Manuel Jamines, 37, was shot twice by a police officer Sunday afternoon near MacArthur Park, a poor neighborhood packed with recent immigrants from Central America.
In other words, a slum.
Beck said the incident involving Jamines started when someone flagged down three bicycle officers to tell them a man was threatening people with a knife.
So, the guy was threatening people with a weapon? Isn’t that against the law even in L.A.?
The officers approached the suspect and told him in Spanish and English to put down the weapon. Instead, Jamines raised the knife above his head and lunged at Officer Frank Hernandez, a 13-year veteran of the department.
Multiple civilian, police and even fire department personnel witnessed the exchange. Officer Hernandez had no choice but to defend himself against a lethal attack. Seems pretty open and shut to me.
[Jaminez] came to the United States six years ago to find work as a day laborer and spent most of his time looking for jobs in a Home Depot parking lot near his home.
Translation: ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT. Nice try, My Way News, but we the informed citizenry know code. His cousin claimed in the interview that Mr. Jaminez was “a friendly, hardworking man who liked to drink on the weekends but wasn’t violent.” So, what was he doing pulling a knife on people, then? Offering a free haircut?
At least one immigrant gets it:
“It’s bad, what the police did, but what’s worse is the silly stuff that people were doing here,” [Juana Neri] said, referring to Monday’s violence. “We are not in our country, and with the problems that Hispanic immigrants have these days, it’s better not to cause problems.”
But hey, as long as the illegals riot and make demands, the citizens of this country will awaken and start pushing back. So, keep on rioting, L.A. You do have a talent for it. Just one question: at what point will you realize that harboring illegals is becoming too expensive/ dangerous/ destructive to your environs?

Al Gore has had some tough breaks — like losing the presidency after getting more votes than the other guy — but the noted environmentalist achieved a singular honor last week, becoming the first vice president to have a Los Angeles school named after him.
And, fittingly, the school will be devoted to environmental themes.
But as in the 2000 election, there’s a catch. Critics say the campus’ location poses a long-term health risk to students and staff.
As if that wasn’t ironic enough, he plays second fiddle to none other than evirowacko Rachel Carson: The Carson- Gore Academy of Environmental Sciences. Am I the only one who notices a few little things, like naming another school after a live pol, and replacing the top soil after building the school, to the tune of $4 million? Or that class instruction will center around recycling, “research”, and beach clean-ups? Can you say “indoctrination“, boys and girls? YES, WE CAN!!!
You have to wonder about a principal who is excited about having an organic garden at his school, with allegedly contaminated soil, though. No links were harmed during this post, but they can be found through Drudge at the L.A. Times.

The name of the tripe site is “teapartytracker [dot] org, and it will feature blog entries, interviews with people at rallies, and twittering, along with ” a picture of a T-shirt they say someone spotted at a rally that reads, ‘Blacks own slaves in Mauitania (sic), Sudan, Niger, and Haiti’” [italics mine]. Read it again: a pic of a shirt THEY SAY SOMEONE SPOTTED. Desperation?
The site, sponsored by the NAACP, Think Progress, New Left Media and Media Matters for America, will monitor “racism and other forms of extremism within the Tea Party movement. We call on the Tea Party to repudiate extremists among their ranks and join in civil dialogue with all Americans.”
Civil dialogue?? Is that what they call using the Race Card? Oh, and last I checked, the Tea Partiers are very good about swiftly repudiating those who come into rallies showing extreme views, especially those masquerading as Tea Partiers, just looking for dirt to post on youtube. Oh, and here’s their catchy motto: “A watched teapot never boils.” Pretty dated saying, isn’t it? Freakin’ morons apparently never learned real science. Just wait until this November. You’ll see a boiling teapot up close and damn personal.

As events unfold around the World Wide Web, I can’t help but notice some happenings that --dare I type it-- bring a grin to my visage, by virtue of the implosion of hitherto unknown secrets being divulged through this capricious instrument.
The Daily Caller has been slowly, deliciously breaking the news about Journolist, a listserv of liberal-leaning so-called journalists, bloggers, political pundits, and academicians. The leaking of the e-mails about killing off the Jeremiah Wright story and trying to shut down a news network puts a freaking spike in the coffin of what was the MSM. The hatred for Rush Limbaugh was just icing. Searching back in the internet, her capriciousness delivers a scrumptious coup: turns out several members are policy makers, like Paul Krugman and Peter Orszag.
UPDATE: Journolist is not dead….it has risen from it’s putrescence as Cabalist.
Al Gore’s troubles, like his methane, just keep rising. Aside the Portland, Oregon investigation, not one, but TWO massage therapists have come forward. One accuser is from Beverly Hills, the other from Tokyo. The only thing that would have made this better was if one had been from Kyoto.
The Obamacare bill had a surprise: a sooper-sekrit gold coin tax. Why is this good news, you may ask? Because people are seeing this for what it is: a massive tax designed to crush small business and entrepreneurship, and enslave the middle class:

The GOP may be having a tough time trying to search for a solid conservative candidate for 2012, but this should bring a spark to their collective eye: Americans would vote for ANY Republican over Prez Obama. I can’t WAIT to see Gibby spin this.
