Pro-government crowds attacked the U.S. and French embassies in Damascus Monday, in the latest escalation of Syrian government anger over foreign moral support for the country’s pro-democracy protesters. At the same time, the government crackdown continued in the central city of Homs.
According to reports from Damascus, the crowd at the U.S. embassy breached the perimeter wall and damaged at least one building in the compound before being dispersed by U.S. Marine guards.
Even when I was in Kosovo, they (pick your party/affiliation) avoided messing with Americans. UN troops were fair game, though. An embassy is considered sovereign territory, as it is representative of the country that ‘owns’ that piece of land. In former years, this would be considered an act of war.
Now, it is considered a minor inconvenience. Sad…..

When Tolerance and Stupidity Meet
Sometimes it takes getting mugged to realize things are not as they seem. From CBS:
CBS News Chief Foreign Correspondent Separated From Her Crew And Brutally Assaulted on Day Mubarak Stepped Down
Correspondent Laura Logan was in Tahrir Square, covering the Egyptian crowd celebrating the stepping down of Hosni Mubarak, when she was separated from her crew. Once she was away from her group, she was severely assaulted sexually and beaten. She was rescued by several Egyptian women, along with about 20 Egyptian Army troops.
Once she was saved from that mob, she got back to her crew and hotel, and left Egypt the following morning.I sincerely hope she recovers and isn’t scarred by this. What bothers me is the how and the why. She went in, uncovered, and without security, only her crew. And the why? Simple: she is a woman, uncovered, showing herself in a vast anonymous throng that believes women for the most part are simply property. I’m all for equality of opportunity, but I know that doesn’t apply in most of the Middle East. Why CBS and Ms. Logan thought it did, I have no idea.

The bomb went off in the lot between the Islamic Society [of Portland] and Back Bay Grill around 8:00 PM Tuesday night. Portland Police say Islamic elders came forward to tell them that a 13 year old from the Society was experimenting and was responsible for the bomb. Another bomb was also found undetinated [sic].
Police say it’s unclear if charges will be filed against the teenagers.
Oh, and don’t think the “elders” called the police on the kid. They came forward after the police started the investigation and had gathered enough evidence to figure out what had transpired. And they were making excuses for the teenager’s actions…. like it was a common, everyday occurence to have a 13 year old making a bomb outside their “society”. Maybe that flies in the Middle East, but not around here.
What would have happened if it had been a non-muslim teen that had tried to detonate a bomb at the “society”?? You can bet your sweet ass that would have made national news as a hate crime. But because it was a muslim teenager, charges might NOT be filed?? One thing is clear: Maine has a big problem, just as Michigan does. If they do not step up and enforce their laws, they will be totally lost.

Sorry for the lack of posts, y’all. I found this earlier, through a friend at Facebook, and ended up walking away from the laptop, choosing to do something constructive before I hurled the poor thing through the window:
A U.S. Army soldier wants to leave the military service as a conscientious objector based on his beliefs as a Muslim, but he says he’s concerned he may be deployed to Afghanistan anyway.
Pfc. Naser [sic] Abdo, 20, an infantryman assigned to the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Ky., said Monday that if the military orders him to deploy, he will refuse to go despite the fact that it may result in a military charge against him.
First off, in my opinion, there is no longer room for the status of conscientious objector. And before anyone decides to bring up Sgt. York, he was drafted. Our military is strictly volunteer-based. So, if someone objects to violence citing his religion, he or she doesn’t have to enlist. If they feel the need to serve their country, there are other means besides the military. So, where the fuck does this fucktard get off with this shit? Where the fuck has he been the last eight years? He whines that he can’t reconcile his faith with his job. And why? Because we are at war with Afghanistan, and this pedophile-worshipping snot would be forced to make a decision on whom to shoot. Only not really, seeing as he is REAR DETACHMENT, and DOES NOT GET DEPLOYED WITH THE UNIT. So now the Army is once again, bending over backwards to make sure no one’s feelings get hurt.
And it is mighty convenient that this islamoretard started a blog only two days before he gave an interview to Al Jazeera, and is soliciting donations for his possible-but-highly-improbable court costs. The question is, should he be discharged into the general population, with no way of keeping track of the slimy toad, of should the Army keep him and watch the fuckmonkey closely, making sure to monitor his every move?

I’m sorry, what part of NATIONAL AERONAUTICS AND SPACE ADMINISTRATION does Prez Obama NOT understand? Where the blooming fuck does it say they are a branch of the Diplomatic Corps(e)? And giving an interview with Al Jazzera before the rest of us know about this? Holy fuck, how blatant can you get??
“It is a matter of trying to reach out and get the best of all worlds, if you will, and there is much to be gained by drawing in the contributions that are possible from the Muslim (nations),” he said. He held up the International Space Station as a model, praising the contributions there from the Russians and the Chinese.
However, Bolden denied the suggestion that he was on a diplomatic mission — in a distinctly non-diplomatic role.
“Not at all. It’s not a diplomatic anything,” he said.
Oh, so his task to “reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with dominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science … and math and engineering” is NOT a “diplomatic anything”? And why the fucking hell do we have to help them “feel good” about contributions made over a thousand years ago?? What the twatmoldy fuck have they contributed lately? Why don’t we take a look at all of the Muslim achievements, eh?
I had high hopes for NASA when Major General Bolden was picked to head the agency. I sincerely hope experience was not trumped by race in this case, but I have a feeling I could be dead wrong.
Brit Ear Leader Bends Over
I’m glad I’m not a Brit. Really glad. I see the slow demise of that once-great country, running headlong into a maelstrom (I love that word) straight to a hell on Earth. First it was the Archbishop of Canterbury arguing for Shari’a law in Great Britain, and dealing with the lovefest Ken Livingstone has for Islam. And now, you have the heir to the throne of England, the Prince of Wales, come out and say this:
Prince Charles yesterday urged the world to follow Islamic ‘spiritual principles’ in order to protect the environment.
In an hour-long speech, the heir to the throne argued that man’s destruction of the world was contrary to the scriptures of all religions -- but particularly those of Islam.
He said the current ‘division’ between man and nature had been caused not just by industrialisation, but also by our attitude to the environment -- which goes against the grain of ‘sacred traditions’.
Says the man with his own private jet, his own private motorcade, and countless estates. Keep in mind, he was speaking at the Oxford Center for Islamic Studies, so there may have been some sucking-up involved. Yes, that’s my way of saying the idiot has no spine. Not to worry, though…. he digs deeper in the hole:
He added: ‘The inconvenient truth is that we share this planet with the rest of creation for a very good reason -- and that is, we cannot exist on our own without the intricately balanced web of life around us.
‘Islam has always taught this and to ignore that lesson is to default on our contract with creation.’
REALLY?????? The same religion that laid waste to the delicate ecosystem of the marshes in Iraq as retribution for an uprising against Saddam Hussein? The same religion that destroyed the priceless Bhuddist statues in Afghanistan? The same religion that sanctions the murder of women who are rape victims? The same religion that sanctions the hanging of a seven-year-old boy and rejoices in the suicide bombing at an Afghan wedding? I could go on for hours detailing what Islam has taught me, but my blood pressure can’t take it.
What I find truly galling is that this so-called prince is heir to the throne of England, which makes him the future head of the Church of England. I always wondered why Queen Elizabeth II refused to abdicate upon reaching retirement age. Now I know: she doesn’t trust her own first born at all. I think she first got the inkling when he decided to separate from Princess Diana. Newsflash, Chuckles: it doesn’t look good on the Church stationery having an adulterer as its leader. You say you have “studied the Koran” extensively? I suggest you go back and study the Holy Bible extensively, if you have any hope of becoming king, which I hope never comes to pass. The Queen is a sharp lady, and it has not escaped my notice how she is grooming Prince William for his ascension to the throne.
