The Party’s Over…Almost

Posted by LC Aggie Sith on Monday, November 7, 2011 in AssHatery, Government, Idiotarians, Politics

We’ve seen it coming, but for the so-called 99%, it’s still a bit of a shock to find that your protest is nothing more than a rave getting out of hand:

Three people arrested Thursday night inside the Occupy Boston camp have been charged with dealing crack cocaine.
{snip}
“Things have changed drastically. It seems to be deteriorating,” the man told Carl [Stevens, of WBZ NewsRadio 1030]. “A lot of drug use, alcohol use, people getting into fights… It’s deteriorating pretty quick.”

This is what you get when you open up a so-called protest to everyone. Even the mayor of Boston, Thomas Menino (D), is upset at what he describes as “infiltration”:

“They have a message that’s not a clear message. The problem we have today is that we have different groups infiltrating the people who have the message. We have anarchists who are part of the group. We have homeless individuals who are part of the group.

Wait…I thought they were part of the 99%?? Are you telling me that homeless people and anarchists are NOT part of this movement?? REALLY??? Because I was under the impression that everyone NOT in Wall Street or a bank was part of the 99%. Seems to me like Mayor Menino doesn’t share the same impression, though.

“The problems are down in Washington. And nobody’s even addressing those issues of what Washington has done to our economy, to job training, to housing, to education. They’re directing their anger at the wrong location.

This is the same man who not long ago was completely in support of the Occupods*. But now that the crime rate is escalating, and the filth and disease is spreading, he is turning his back and suggesting the occupiers at Dewey Square GTFO and go protest in Washington, D.C.

Nothing like a fair weather politician, eh??

Reach Arounds Are Extra

Riding the wave of the Occupy Fill-in-the-Blank protesting 1% of something, two lawmakers will introduce bills to tax financial transactions, following a proposal introduced in the European Union.

Because you know, taxation is working so well over there.

Senator Tom Harkin, an Iowa Democrat, and Representative Peter DeFazio, an Oregon Democrat, will introduce the bills tomorrow in their respective chambers. The bills will give the United States an increased role in the international debate over a transaction tax, which is likely to be discussed at the Group of 20 summit this week in Cannes, France.

Yes, the same Cannes where Sarkozy is fighting to keep from unravelling due to Greece’s sudden demands for a popular vote over their financial rescue by the rest of the European Union members. Europe would love this tax bill here, which in turn would add global capital for use in undertermined ways. And by “undetermined”, I mean bailouts. Who controls global capital again?

But don’t worry. It wouldn’t be as high as the EU proposal of .1% of stock and bond trades. It would only be a rate of .03%. And in case you needed more reassurances, Senator Harkin delivers.

“It’s a significant way to raise some needed revenue,” Harkin said in an interview today in Washington. “Quite frankly, I bet nobody would even feel it.”

No one that actually doesn’t pay taxes. It never ceases to amaze me how a tax hike is permanent, but a tax cut is temporary.

Sometimes the best disinfectant is napalm.

French is French for …..

….. fucking assholes.

Huge cheers went up in UNESCO after delegates voted to approve the membership Monday. One shouted “Long Live Palestine!” in French.

{snip}

Palestinian officials are seeking full membership in the United Nations, but because that effort is expected to take some time, they are separately trying to get membership at Paris-based UNESCO.

U.S. lawmakers have threatened to withhold $80 million in aid from UNESCO, which is a rathole of corruption in itself. But the Fwench don’t care, as long as they can spite the Israelis and the Americans. The big bonus is that, if Palestinians get UN recognition, the Fwench can then start shipping the “undesirable” second-class citizenry of their country back to the Middle Eastern hellhole from where it spawned, thus helping Fwance re-establish its cultural hegemony. Because you know…the Palis were there first, along with unicorns.

The Fwench may have surrendering down to an artform, but they sure learned a thing or two from that little Austrian guy.

What Did the Prez Know, and When Did He Know It?

Posted by LC Aggie Sith on Monday, October 17, 2011 in Government, Politics, Scandal

First, Eric Holder didn’t know anything about the Fast and Furious Fiasco until March or April. Then Prez Obama threw him under the bus during an interview with CNN Español:

And now you have this from March 24th, 2009:

The Obama Presidency: Unravelling at the Speed of Neutrinos™.

This is the work of Exurban League. They are now in the demigod ranks.

House of Spades*

Things are looking bad for the Prez. When you have the Democrats uniting against you, there is a huge problem:

More and more Democrats are publicly challenging Obama on a range of issues.

Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) ripped the administration on Tuesday for considering keeping U.S. troops in Iraq beyond this year. In a floor speech on Tuesday, Rep. Mike Quigley (D-Ill.) questioned Obama’s strategy in Afghanistan.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), meanwhile, are at odds with Obama on the trade deals he just sent to Congress. Reid has committed to moving them, though he has made clear he is not a fan. Pelosi has put the White House on notice she will not be twisting arms to pass the agreements.

Take a moment to bathe in the sweet, sweet tears. Done?? Awesome!

Democrats are in a very tough position now. They can choose to back the Prez in any bill he commands proposes, or they can turn and face the Reality that’s in the 2012 mirror, and try to salvage any hope to keep control of at least one chamber of Congress. Apparently, they are choosing to cut themselves loose from the Underdawg** Prez. After all, why would you tie yourself to a sinking ship? Again??

I’m sure this is temporary. Democrats have learned to unite when faced with a common enemy. The problem for them is that the Republican enemy is too nebulous now. The Democrat enemy is far more accessible.

Especially when he lives like a Sun King.

* As I have stated before, a spade is a shovel, and these people are trying to bury our country.

** The Prez has to keep tight with his roots, yo!

Democrats Choke on Weiner

Posted by LC Aggie Sith on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 in Government, Politics

I’m still laughing. What was considered a super, big time longshot became a reality:

Republican Wins House Race in New York, Seen as Obama Rebuke

It’s not that it was just a longshot. But for a complete political newbie to carry a district that is over 75% Democrat, and had not been held by a Republican since….. —I can’t count that far back. I think it’s about 90 years??— anyway, how can it NOT be considered a slap to Prez Obama? Only a dingbat would say otherwise, right??

“It’s a very difficult district for Democrats,” said Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz…(snip)

Like I said, a dingbat. Look, Debbie, when you have a Democrat running in a heavily Jewish Orthodox district come out and give support for the Ground Zero conquering piece of shit mosque, you have a problem. Add to that former mayor Ed Koch endorsing the Republican, and you should be ready for a shitstorm. You were so freakin’ confident that you only had former president Clinton and Governor Cuomo record special phone messages and labor union thugs come out for your candidate.

Face it, Deb: you failed. Now please, go eat a large serving of STFU.

The Truth Hurts

In this particular instance, the infliction of pain goes a long way in putting a smile on my face:

Powell says Cheney taking ‘cheap shots’ in book

Let’s take a moment here to laugh, shall we??

The Affirmative Action General goes on to bitch on Face the Nation that this book is nothing more than a rehashing of what happened about eight years ago, and that had Cheney’s staff and others in the White House had been forthcoming about the Valerie Plame issue, Libby would not have been indicted and convicted. Not sure what that has to do with Cheney’s criticisms of Powell’s rather weak policy towards Iraq, but rehashing is good for the goose, and apparently the gander, too.

Go read the article. The whole thing is a whiny bitchfest about how he served President Bush and how Cheney basically is acting like he is writing a supermarket tabloid unbecoming a former vice-president. Not that you need me to point it out, but who do you really think is acting like a creature from a tabloid here??

I rest my case.

Down, Do Be Do, Down, Down…

Posted by LC Aggie Sith on Thursday, August 18, 2011 in Economics, Government, Left Wing Media, Politics

As y’all know, the firm Standard & Poor’s cut the federal credit rating from AAA to AA+. Now comes word that the Justice Department won’t take that laying down.

The Justice Department is investigating whether the Standard & Poor’s credit ratings agency improperly rated dozens of mortgage securities in the years leading up to the financial crisis, The New York Times reported Wednesday.

Ok, true, that comes from the the New York Times, so the gloating is palpable. And according to the “source”, the investigation began before the US was downgraded. But if so, then why the secrecy until now? Either way, this does look like the DoJ is retaliating in response to the downgrade. And it doesn’t help the fact that no one knows if the investigation is on all major ratings agencies, including Moody’s and Fitch, or just Standard and Poor’s.

In any case, this should prove to be interesting as it progresses. Standard and Poor’s doesn’t seem the type to back down easily.
