First SMD Soldering
Well, here it is. I finally got the nerve (and the board) to try hand soldering a damned tiny microcontroller to an adapter board. It really wasn’t that hard, however at this point I don’t actually know if it works.

If you are not familiar with Sparkfun, you should really go take a look. They have tutorials, a forum, an IRC channel on Freenode and, of course, lots of gadgets.
When I was first getting started with electronics, Sparkfun was invaluable to me. Their, AVR tutorials are well done and really helped get me started.
Adventures in Microcontrollers
Lately I’ve been learning the ins and outs of Atmels AVR microcontrollers. This is an early project I put together. It is an ATTiny2313 programmed in c. The 14 segment LED is controlled by two 8-bit shift registers.
